CREATIVE TEAM QUALIFICATIONS

The collective team has worked across film, video and TV broadcasters, producing both local and international stories and news reports. Independent films have also been produced by crew in their own right. The clientele ranges from National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, Agency French Press, European Union Commission Parliamentary Desk, SABC and a range of corporate clientele. This extensive cumulative experience enables the team to produce high level factual documentary content at a very technical level and an insightful story-telling level. In addition, the producer/director has worked across the three tiers of government, from environmental projects, social assessment, local economic development, social policy, public participation, infrastructural service delivery (housing, sanitation, water, and electricity), and has developed co-operative governance projects, which is an added bonus in producing content of this nature.

  • Michael Rosenberg - world renowned wildlife filmmaker, founder of Partridge Films, producing award-winning films for BBC, National Geographic, he has won numerous awards globally (https://www.wildfilmhistory.org/person/79/Michael+Rosenberg).
  • Similo Gobinga - founder of Blackstorm Productions; co-founder of the Durban Film Society, credited with civil society advocacy films, broadcast and indie film credits.(https://blackstormproductions.blogspot.com/).
  • Kevin English - Dynamic Visual Productions, 32 years as a highly skilled, fine-tuned Editor in news broadcast, documentary films to corporate commercials, to the acclaimed WildTouch and Earth-Touch.
  • Johan Prinsloo –Producer/ Sound Engineer - Johan has a well-established reputation as sound engineer for local and international films and broadcasts, from SABC to National Geographic.  He worked as audio consultant and Final Mix engineer at Earth-Touch doing natural history documentaries for local and international broadcasters. The first local company to do programs for the HD channel on DSTV and the first in the world to shoot (footage from around the world) package and broadcast a daily television show within a 24 hour timeframe. The only ones doing post-production work in surround Sound in KZN. He currently operates the only surround sound facility for post-production outside of Earth-Touch in KZN. Clients include Gela productions, DV Productions, Baobab Pictures, Meerkat Media, Chalkface Edutainment, Redrum Productions, Clive Morris Productions and Earth-Touch to name a few. He specialises in foley recording, sound design, surround sound and Final mix. Some TV shows I’ve done work for include Fortuinsoekers with Scott Scott, 50/50, Wild-Touch, Dharma moments, Amazulu football and M-Net advertisements.
  • Michelle Simon - Writer, Producer, Director; WaterShed is her first feature debut production (three-part film series), stemming from twenty years of activism that eventually coalesced into the development of this film (2007). Her film work forms an extension of her professional and grassroots work, serving to translate written and scientific work through the lens.
